This report is about the transitions young people make from compulsory education to early adult life, comparing the experiences of disabled and non-disabled young people. It explores the aspirations young people develop for further
education and future employment, and the extent to which those aspirations are achieved. Aside from their instrumental importance in securing good educational and occupational outcomes, positive aspirations for the future – and being able to make choices in pursuit of them – are important aspects of autonomy.
