Kate’s tour of the Eastcut facility increased her interest in hands-on work and finding a career in wood manufacturing and construction.

At MentorAbility, we enjoy helping job seekers learn more about the work that interests them. A tour of the Eastcut Wood Building Solutions facility helped Kate, a MentorAbility mentee, learn so much more about wood manufacturing and the construction industry.

Kate thought she might be interested in hands-on work and routine tasks, and the work at Eastcut fits this mould. When we mentioned to Kate that Eastcut was providing a tour of their facility to potential job seekers, she wanted to attend.

The experience, superbly mentored by Eastcut’s Business Office Administrator, Brae, showcased all the facets of production within the company’s plant: from the creation of blueprints to the custom cutting of wood, to the assembly of walls and roof trusses, and even the modular outdoor classrooms. Eastcut and their production partner, DORA Modular, cover all the bases for the production and assembly of all things wood related.

Kate’s tour of the Eastcut facility increased her interest in hands-on work and finding a career in this sector. She learned all about wood manufacturing and the work done in this type of facility. With all sorts of different roles, Kate is certain she could find one that she loves. Brae enjoyed offering her first MentorAbility mentorship and she would consider mentoring again in the future.

With her newfound knowledge, Kate is ready to step into a job in wood manufacturing and construction! Good luck, Kate! We’re sure you’ll make an excellent addition to this sector.
