Mentorability Experience Stories: Carter

Short-term mentoring experiences provide learning opportunities for both the mentor and the person being mentored.

Carter has “always been interested in being creative with [his] drawing,” so the idea of a career in the creative arts has always been appealing to him. Therefore, when the opportunity came about to be mentored by a local graphic designer – through MentorAbility and Avalon Employment – Carter jumped at the chance to learn more about the industry.

Carter found being mentored in graphic design “very interesting” and he “enjoy[ed] it a lot.” He would welcome the opportunity to gain full-time employment and love to do so within the graphic design field.

When asked about his MentorAbility Experience, Carter said his favourite part of the program was getting the chance to learn more about graphic design that he otherwise wouldn’t have had; and, he’d recommend the program to others looking to gain experience in their desired fields because he’s “finally doing something [he] likes” thanks to MentorAbility.

Way to go, Carter!
