The Supported Employment Essentials Certificate Program has been developed in partnership with the Canadian Association for Supported Employment and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Supported Employment Practitioners play a key role in facilitating the full community and workplace inclusion, both socially and economically, of diverse individuals with complex employment considerations. Supported Employment Specialists work in partnership with job seekers and employers to provide individualized supports that value the choice and control of individuals while meeting the real employment needs of employers.
Grounded in established best practices, this foundational course will refine students’ understanding of supported employment to benefit both work-seeking individuals and employers or contractors.
This certificate program allows those new to the field of supported employment, as well as seasoned practitioners, to build upon their skills and confidence in this field. Each of the eight modules is rooted in best practice, and features live webinars, advanced reading, case studies, open discussion forums, and concrete learning activities. It engages students to develop their critical thinking and action planning abilities.
Upon successful completion, learners will be provided with a certificate of completion along with micro-credentials that can be shared on social media platforms.
